TBT ‘The North Remembers’ in GOT Season 5

Time for Arya Stark: Surprises and Secrets in Season 5
When the Show and Book Collide and Why Writers Have to Let It Happen

Nobody likes the bad guys, and when we see our favorite characters being bullied and treated badly by those bad guys, it is natural to want to avenge them. And after all the bad things happening to Stark family – Ned Stark death, Robb Stark’s massacre, and other bad things happening to this good family – it is natural to see the bad suffer – or at least getting all the cruelty that they deserve. Well, it seems that viewers of Game of Thrones season 5 will see the bad guys finally pay for what they have done – or at least, will be – if seeing the plots and the stories in the episodes in this season 5. The bad guys haven’t paid for anything, but karma is waiting patiently on their doors and is about to knock. We just have to wait and see.

The remaining of the article contains spoilers for those who haven’t watched the show.

Some important things are definitely happening to Game of Thrones plotline, and though the events are small and don’t seem to be taking major scenes, it makes viewers hopeful – because you are hoping that the revenge will happen soon. When Sansa just returned to Winterfell, a serving woman whispers, “The North remembers”. It is such a small scene, but it brings hope and it is certainly important for the remaining of the story. After the Red Wedding massacre, Ned Stark’s beheading, and Winterfell’s fall, we forget that the North is still there, waiting patiently in the darkness. We tend to forget that they did love their beloved ruler, Ned Stark, and the fall of Winterfell must have affected them deeply as well. Well, for once, I am glad to find out that I’m not the only one holding a grudge so far.TBT 'The North Remembers' in GOT Season 5

If you have watched some of the early episodes and you watch the show further, you will see some of the insubordination of the North against their new ruler, showing that they are definitely not happy and (probably) will be more than happy to go into a fight against them. Ramsay Bolton, for instance, claims that he faces some difficulties from the lords (in the North, of course) concerning taxes due. Although he decides to flay them alive, his action only makes things worse. Lyanna Mormont also rebuffs Stannis Baratheon by saying that Bear Island, her home, only knows and admits one northern king, and his name is Stark. These small scenes alone have shown that revenge is just around the corner, waiting for the perfect timing.

Not to mention that Sansa is more courageous than before, deciding to avenge her family with her own way. Although she is involved with Littlefinger’s plan, which is still shady and obscure, it is clear that she has the love and the support of her people. Although it is unclear how the story will go on, hopefully, we all (the Starks and viewers) will have the good revenge that we’ve been waiting so long.
